Judy Benschop writes authentic and sensitive folksongs that are intuitive; silent fragments from a turbulent life. She has a light, clear voice that makes her sound lovely as well as fragile. She sings straight from the heart and knows how to touch the listener. She does this in such a subtle way that you almost don’t notice, but in the meantime her songs grab you and the melodies nestle themselves in your head.

Judy comes from a creative, musical and artistic family. She started playing piano and guitar in her teens and sang in a teen choir. At that time, she was inspired by singer–songwriters like Melanie, Donovan and Janis Joplin.
Her music helped her get through a challenging time in her life and when she started appearing in public she discovered it touches others as well.

Her audience likens her voice and musical style to such artists as: Melanie, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Eva Cassidy, Tori Amos, Katie Melua and the Cranberries.
